Magnesia brick play an important role in regenerator chamber of glass furnace

Regenerator chamber of glass furnace should select checker brick with high heating unit area which can minimize the heat of checker as far as possible, in addition, must ensure that the heating furnace lining and the checker brick material on the combustible medium has a high anti - erosion effect.

magnesia brick should be used in the regenerator wall, because it has the ability to resist the erosion of the solid powder component and the basic gas medium. Usually, the upper wall of regenerator adopt magnesia brick with MgO content of 97%, and transit to use magnesia brick with MgO content of 95%.

The other parts of the regenerator chamber wall are made of high alumina bricks and clay bricks which are instead of magnesia brick. The main reason can replace magnesia brick is that: the thermal conductivity and the thermal expansion coefficient of magnesia brick are high which can not be used with aluminum silicate insulation materials at the same time, what is more, the cost is high.

As to the top brick of regenerator, instead of magnesia brick, it can use silica brick, as there is no circulating current in the upper part of the regenerator, so it is reasonable to use silica brick as the superstructure brick of regenerator. Neutral mortar is used to separate the magnesia brick and silica brick.
