The FIFA 15 Ultimate Team Coins of a transfer is sometimes shrouded in mystery and can prove equally frustrating for managers, players and fans.
The process requires the co-operation of a whole host of parties and negotiations which can slow up at any point.
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson seems to be struggling for luck in this January transfer window with Benik Afobe leaving, players turning the club down and deals taking time to complete.
Robinson said: “It’s a minimum of 50 to 100 phone calls with the club, 50 times with the player, 50 times with the club, it is just relentless that is why managers don’t like the January transfer window because this is as hard as it gets.
“If it is a short term deal that turns up on your desk you can do it very quickly, when it’s something like the players we have just missed out on we had them watched six times and met with them. They take months.
“There will be ones that you build up, there will be ones that you work around the clock for 48 hours to do which will include a medical.”
For fans of computer games, transfers take a matter of minutes with bidding and negotiations being completed very quickly but Robinson said this is just not like real life.
He said: “I was playing fIFA 15 PS4 Coins, I tell you it is a lot easier doing a transfer on one of them than it is in real life.
“We have to haggle as well, give and take, we have to make sure everything fits into our structure and into our wage cap that we have at the club, we can never break that. We are about tomorrow as well as today.”
