Magazines have always relied Fifa 14 Ultimate Team Coins on glossy photography and theNook's excellent screen does a very good job of making the most ofthis fact. It claims the highest resolution of any 7-inch tabletcurrently available, offering considerably more than 720p HD withits 1,440x900 pixels delivering 243 pixels per inch. That'sextremely close to the 10-inch iPad's 264 ppi, but well ahead ofthe 7.9-inch iPad mini's 163 ppi and also in front of the 216 ppiof both the Google Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HD. Incidentally, its bigger cousin, the 9-inchNook HD+ keeps up the HD effect with its 1,080p display of1,920x1,280 pixels delivering 256 ppi.
The display is fully laminated, with absolutely no gap betweenthe display and its glass cover, which helps to increasesensitivity. The viewing angle is pretty broad, handy for sharing, and it handles glare from sunlight pretty well too.
The Nook appears to be built to last, with a heavy bezelsurrounding the slightly recessed screen and rubberised plasticback
Sure enough, the examples preloaded on to our sample lookterrifically vibrant (if overly crammed with ads) with glossyphotos that retain their sharpness even when the pinch-to-zoom isracked up to its limit. They retain their magazineness too withthe ability to flip over pages with animated effects to simulatereal paper pages. The dual-core 1.3GHz processor backed by a full1GB RAM is no slouch when it comes to delivering the goods, andthose little animations make all the difference when you'rebrowsing through the glossy magazines.
