The commodity city is full of business opportunities and vigor. On Feb. 13, the First World Conference of Yiwu Merchants of 2016 held the grand signing ceremony of investment introduction projects, and five projects were successfully signed and settled in Yiwu Futian Market. The signing was witnessed by Tao Chenghua, Deputy Secretary of Jinhua Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Municipal Politics and Law Committee, and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Municipal Political Consultative Conference, together with Yiwu leaders Sheng Qiuping, Lin Yi, Chen Xiuxian, and Song Yinghao.

The 5 signed projects are: project of LED epitaxial wafer, chip, and sapphire processing signed between HC SemiTek Corporation and Zhejiang Yiwu Industrial Park; LED production expansion and new energy project signed between Shenzhen Refond Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Yiwu Industrial Park; development project of Huaxi Forest Park signed between Shanxi Zhengyang-Zhejiang Merchants Alliance Investment Company and Yiwu; project of Yiwu market Wild Animal World signed between Tongjin (Shanghai) Investment Co., Ltd. and Yiwu; and construction project of production line with annual outputs of 6,000-ton candies and 14,400-ton cookies signed between Shenzhen Rungu Food Co., Ltd. and Fotang Town.

It is understood that in 2015, Yiwu City fully implemented "academicians and experts wisdom gathering project", and actively carried out academicians and experts activities in Yiwu, implemented innovation driven power engineering, established the first foreign academician and expert workstation -- Zhejiang University of Technology Institution Academician and Expert Workstation. The academician Vyacheslav Petrov won Zhejiang Province foreign experts “West Lake Friendship Award” of 2015. At the same time, it also newly built Yiwu Black and White Mining Machinery Co., Ltd., and other two academician expert workstations. Up to now, Yiwu has built 9 academician expert workstations, where a total of 11 innovation teams entered, 11 academicians and 35 experts were introduced.According to incomplete statistics, since the establishment of workstation, the enterprises has invested a total of about 20 million yuan of research and development funds, and the cooperative projects directly have generated economic benefits about 60 million yuan.
