Hydraulics not working
I bought the splitter a couple of years ago and used it a few times. Tried to splitt a couple of pieces and the hydraulics stopped working. The splitter pump is really hard to reach and work on.
Check the assembly of the splitter
Overall, this is worth every penny. It has flown through every challenge thrown at it, including logs with knots the size of soccer balls. Haven't found a log yet it couldn't eat.
Down side...the people who assemble them at the stores are often not very mechanically inclined. The wheels were VERY loose on mine, and had only about a thimble full of bearing grease in them.
When you buy one of these, check EVERYTHING...greased bearings, kinked hydraulic lines, fluid levels, etc. The machine itself, excluding the way it was assembled...a definite 5 by someone who has split firewood for 50 years.
I bought this 22 ton wood splitter last week, it splits good, BUT the location of the oil fill opening is VERY BAD, you have to have a long neck funnel and it is still very hard to reach. Don't know who picked out that location, but it is very impractible.
wood splitter does an excellent job. splits oak wood with ease. briggs motor cranks good and has plenty of power to get the job done. i just have one question.
who was the genius that cut the hole in mount plate to mount the motor and didn't cut enough space to get the oil plug out so the oil can be drained. he was using his engineer degree to the fullist no doubt.http://www.cnsuperpower.com/
