Centrifugal pump has a lot of types, classification method commonly have following several ways
According to impeller number: single stage centrifugal pump, multistage centrifugal pump
1 Single stage pump: there is one impeller on pump shaft.
2 Multistage pump: there are two or more impellers on shaft, and pump total head is the sum of N impeller heads.
According to working pressure: low pressure, middle pressure, and high pressure centrifugal pump
1 low pressure pump: pressure is lower than 100 m water column
2 middle pressure pump: pressure is between 100 and 650 m water column
3 High pressure pump: pressure is higher than 650 m water column

Generally, in drilling fluid solids control system, centrifugal pump matched with other solids control equipment like desander,desilter, jet mud mixer. It has a wide range of performance (including flow, pressure head and the conveyed medium nature adaptability), small volume, simple structure, easy operation, low operating cost and other merits.
Centrifugal pump should be in accordance with the conveying liquids to undertake choosing, and checked required performance, analysis suction, exhaust condition, whether it is intermittent operation or continuous operation, etc.
