To install HandyDeck tiles on your patio floor

To install HandyDeck tiles on your patio floor, start by measuring up the area you want to cover, and calculate how many tiles you'll need. Our SwiftDeck Ipe wood tiles and ResiDeck composite wood tiles cover an area 2ft high fence panelsof exactly 1 sq.ft. but the stone EzyTile range are slightly smaller at 11 13/16" x 11 13/16" so you'll need about 3% more tiles than total number of sq.ft. And if you need to cut any tiles to fit around any obstacles, then maybe you will need a few extra.
Cutting around pipes, posts or other fixed obstacles on the patio is normally no real problem since the SwiftDeck or ResiDeck interlocking tiles can easily be cut to shape with a handsaw or jigsaw. It may be necessary to reposition a few screws which hold the slats to the base after cutting, but that's about it. With the EzyTile range however, it will admittedly take a bit more effort, as you will a need a wetsaw to cut the tiles to shape.
For a professional finish on the outer recycled composite decking edge of your patio deck, edging pieces are available for the SwiftDeck and EzyTile ranges (but not for ResiDeck composite wood tiles). These are designed not only to avoid the danger of tripping on the edge of the deck, but exterior wood syntheticthey also hide the plastic interlocking tabs around the sides of the tiles. These edge pieces simply clip onto the edge of the outer row of tiles.
