KOSUN High-speed Vertical Dryer can Reduce Environmental Impact

KOSUN Vertical cutting dryer is a high-speed vertical dryer that achieves maximum liquids/solids separation in large-volume processing. Vertical cutting dryer gives operators a critical advantage in meeting increasingly stringent environmental regulations for onshore and offshore drilling waste management disposal.

Mainly Features of Vertical Cuttings Dryer:
1. Maximum screen speed 800 rpm (350 G’s);
2. Maximum inner cone flights is 790 RPM;
3. Both are driven by (1) 1750 RPM motor (but different diameter pulleys);
4. Maximum flow process rate 40ton/hour. When flight’s thickness is below 50 mm they should be changed;
5. Enables compliance with Regulations on Retention on Cuttings discharge (R.O.C.).

Reducing environmental impact (OBM discharged to the environment):
The Vertical Cuttings Dryer System http://www.kosun.us/drilling-waste-management/vertical-centrifuge.html can reduce total discharged OOC below 5.0%, which is currently the discharge limit in many areas of the world. However our goal is to reduce the percentage even further.

Improved economics (cost savings):
1. As a result of recovered OBM being returned to the mud system, the drilling fluid recovered provides a huge saving to the client with OBM cost.
2. Recovering mud and ultimately reducing the volume of waste generated, also results in the cost associated with hauling off waste being greatly reduced.

Drilling fluids vertical cutting dryer could be regarded as a vertical centrifuge, the discharged cuttings transferred by the auger get into the screw conveyor. Drilling fluid vertical cutting dryer from the opening on the top, under the function of centrifugal force produced by rotation of the screen module. Liquid flow out from the opening at the flank side while the solids discharged out from the outlet at the bottom of the cutting dryer. The discharged solids water content is around 30%, that means there is no flowing water, so it could be transported easily.
